Steve Woodburn takes his undefeated side to Silloth this Saturday in the North Lancs/Cumbria League.
In contrast the Cumbrians have lost their opening three games, including two home defeats, and currently sit in the bottom three of the league table.
Woodburn will be looking for a good result against the Tigers to help celebrate his birthday this weekend.
“We’ve had a good start with three good results so far. Silloth will be something of a challenge as they like to scrap and spoil for points. It will be a different test to the Carlisle game.
“I’ll be looking for a few more tries on the board this weekend. They haven’t produce anything near their best so far and we’re going well. That’s something we’ll capitalise on and we’ll be looking for a good result.”
The player/coach says second spot in league is helping generate a positive attitude around the squad.
“Training has gone really well this week. I’ve already mentioned the positive team spirit we have and the fact the boys are playing for each other. That’s also showing up in training with good numbers turning up and working hard with smiles on their faces. That really helps to develop the team ethos and also to develop our game on the pitch. If you are enjoying your rugby it makes it easier to play and easier for me to coach.”
A strong squad is expected to make the journey north with no new injury fears.
“We have no big injuries and will be going with a similar strength side again this Saturday,” added Woodburn.
