Fleet will play their first game against Clithereo on Sunday and captain Kerry McCorkell (pictured) says the Green & Gold camp are ready for action.
“Sunday will provide a good opportunity to judge just how much we have progressed since we started in October. The girls are really interested in the game but some nerves are starting to set in.
"It will be good see how our teamwork and discipline of working together has progressed. It will also be interesting see how we match ourselves against an established side like Clithereo.”
Charlie Hancock, 25, is one of the players hoping to turn-out this weekend.
“I’ve been looking to get into rugby for some time and this opportunity was ideal. A few players have joined us along the way but most players have been here since day one. We are all looking forward to Sunday and showing what we can do on the pitch!”
Kick-off on Sunday is 2.00pm with two 20 minute halves. A Sunday lunch will be available in the bar following the match.
New players of all abilities and new to the sport are welcome at Melbourne Avenue each Wednesday for training 6-7pm.
